Cagliari, traffic changes on Viale Poetto: traffic at a standstill

The change to the road system – for yet another construction site – had been announced for a few days, but this was not enough to avoid the usual traffic jams and long queues. It happened in Viale Poetto in Cagliari, where from today until Thursday 3 April – in the time slot 9-12:30 – a reduction in the carriageway is in force in the stretch from Viale Campioni d'Italia 1969-1970 to Marina Piccola, to safely allow for the maintenance of urban greenery.

Traffic problems were particularly severe, especially in the first hours after the changes to traffic were implemented , with queues (on the road towards Cagliari) starting from the Hippodrome.

The executive order has defined, in addition to the reduction of the carriageway, the institution of the overtaking ban and the maximum speed limit of 30 km/h . The restrictions are valid for both directions of travel on Viale Poetto.
