More than 10 years after its closure, a new lease of life begins today for the preschool on Via Pietro Leo. Nestled in the greenery of Monte Urpinu Park, the renovated Giovanni Lilliu Institute will now house three new classes, accommodating up to 75 students in a "green but, above all, child-friendly" facility.

Director Alessandra Cocco: "We will continue to promote our outdoor education project, which we launched post-Covid, also in the Institute's other locations, and which complements our pedagogical approach." This task will be facilitated by a completely rebuilt facility—the result of a €3 million investment, funded by the Metropolitan City Agreement signed in 2016.

Zero impact, photovoltaic and sound-absorbing panels, playrooms, large internal spaces, and by the end of the month also outdoor play areas and a kitchen dedicated to the complex.

"A school that meets the most advanced safety standards and, of course, extremely welcoming facilities," explains Giulia Andreozzi, Councilor for Education. "We are delighted to have completed the renovation of a school that the neighborhood has been waiting for years."

In addition to dozens of young students, the inauguration was attended by families, teachers, and the mayor Massimo Zedda.
