"We're working on it". Thus the municipal councilor for tourism of Cagliari , Alessandro Sorgia, replied to the question of Marzia Cilloccu (Progetto Comune) on what is the fate of the resources collected with the tourist tax.

“Introduced in July 2021 in a hurry without considering the emergency period

pandemic still underway and the tourist season that has now started "the tax" has recorded in the capital a revenue of about 500 thousand euros for 2021 and a forecast of 1 million and 250 thousand euros for the year 2022. How they decided to use these proceeds the mayor and the junta? ”: this is the question of the opposition councilor.

The funds should be used for interventions in the field of tourism and therefore of maintenance, use and recovery of local cultural and environmental assets, of the related local public services, as already happens in the Municipalities that have invested in Libraries and Foundations of municipal competence, urban decor. , maintenance, territorial marketing, events, congresses and in general in promoting the brand of the tourist destination.

“These are very important actions to facilitate tourist flows”, underlines Cilloccu, “to which we could add a commitment to make the city ever cleaner, more welcoming and safe”.

From the council, Sorgia has made it known that his department must collaborate with that of the Heritage and Tributes of Fioremma Landucci, just established (in place of Andrea Floris): " I am giving you the time to take possession of the offices".
