A parasite in the mouth of a fish served in the university canteen in via Trentino, in Cagliari . The discovery was made by a student, who found it on his plate and sent the photo to the UniCaralis association, born on the first day of this month: «The canteens guarantee seasonal products, but also the fear of having a 'food poisoning', is the complaint of the president Matteo Pisu. «This morning's photo of the fish served in the canteen seasoned with a parasite in the innards. We would very much like to tell you that this is a joke, but it is not so ».

For the student representatives "it is unacceptable that the canteen service is unable to guarantee an adequate and safe diet". What is documented is the presence of a Cymothoa exigua inside the fish: common and not dangerous for the health of anyone who might ingest it. But certainly not pretty to look at.

The president of ERSU, Cosimo Ghiani, arrives to reassure the boys: «As soon as we received the report, we started the investigations with the company that manages the canteen contract», he explains, «it was an oversight and, in any case, a isolated case. The photo put into circulation makes it look like who knows what, but we're talking about a little fish. It shouldn't, but it can happen. And in any case», he underlines, «there is no danger to health. The canteen service guarantees high quality standards».
