Cagliari shrouded in fog: flights diverted to Alghero

Cagliari and its hinterland shrouded in fog, heavy disruption at Elmas airport.

With the equipment available at the Mario Mameli airport it is difficult to land due to poor visibility, due to a dense cloud that has formed throughout the entire area of the capital since the early hours of the morning.

Around 8.30 there are already three arriving flights diverted to the Alghero airport: the 8.05 Ryanair expected from Malta will land in Fertilia, the ITA scheduled for the same time taking off from Rome and again the 8. .45 arriving from Milan.

The noticeboards of Sogaer, the airport's management company, are already reporting the first delays also for departures: the unavailability of the aircraft on the tarmac, due to the hijackings, risks causing a chain effect which - if the fog does not clear quickly – it could have repercussions for the whole day.
