«A nice Christmas gift for the schools of Cagliari and all of Sardinia».

This is the - ironic - comment of Giulia Andreozzi , municipal councilor of Possibile, on the Region's resolution with the list of schools abolished or merged in the capital and in the rest of the island.

«This morning was a rude awakening for schools across the island: the ax of the Region's resolution on school sizing fell upon them», explains Andreozzi on Facebook. Adding: «Autonomies that disappear mean school managers and secretarial offices that are canceled with the stroke of a pen and the few who remain find themselves having to manage situations with thousands of students coming from very different territorial and environmental contexts ».

«As a municipal councilor of Cagliari – adds the Possibile exponent – I am obviously focusing on what will happen in the next school year in the city schools. The proposal of the municipality of Cagliari was simply to merge the Alfieri-Conservatorio lower secondary school with the Lilliu Educational Directorate, which would be transformed into a comprehensive institute. Let's instead see what the Region's wicked choice was", adds Andreozzi, summarizing the changes in a diagram :

  • Alfieri-Conservatorio secondary school: abolished and merged with the Satta-Spano-De Amicis comprehensive institute, for a total of almost 1200 students.
  • Colombo comprehensive school: abolished and merged with the Tuveri-Randaccio Don Milani comprehensive school, for a total of over 1300 students.
  • Lilliu teaching management and Stockholm Comprehensive Institute are abolished and merged into a single newly established comprehensive institute, which will have a total of over 1300 students.

«Historical institutes of our city are therefore disappearing – concludes the councilor – and entities that functioned perfectly are being erased, to create mega institutes that will have enormous difficulties in carrying out projects , using available resources, personalizing and adapting teaching activities. to the reference context and so on: all things that have already been seen in previous years with previous sizing rounds and that we thought we had escaped for this year. Not to mention the jobs that will be lost. There's no doubt about it, a nice Christmas gift for the schools of the city and the whole island."
