Making Cagliari more beautiful, but also restoring dignity to those in difficulty. This is the mission of the project “Custodi del Bello Cagliari”, presented today in the Archbishop's Curia. An initiative that combines urban regeneration and social inclusion, involving the entire city community.

Born in the wake of the national program promoted by the Italian Episcopal Conference and Caritas Italiana, “Custodi del Bello” is active in 12 Italian cities and aims at a concrete change: improving neighborhoods and, at the same time, creating job opportunities for citizens in difficulty . In Cagliari, thanks to the support of Caritas San Saturnino, the project has already seen the light with a first team of four people involved in the redevelopment of the Marina neighborhood.

In November, a second team will go into action in the Sant'Elia neighborhood and, by 2026, the activation of about 50 internships is expected. It is not just about making urban spaces more livable, but about offering those who live in fragile situations a concrete possibility of redemption, through work and training .

The project stands out for its strong community dimension: it involves the Church, the Municipality, city businesses and citizens, all united in a single mission. In fact, protecting beauty does not only mean taking care of places, but also of the people who live there, restoring value and hope to those who, deep down, have always had the right to feel part of something bigger.
