A 17-day-old newborn, with a serious heart problem and requiring urgent specialist care, was transported today from Cagliari to Milan on a Falcon 900 from the 31st Wing of Ciampino.
The child's transfer flight, requested by the Prefecture of Cagliari and - the Air Force reports - promptly arranged and coordinated by the Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, took place inside a special thermal cradle.
The plane was also accompanied by his family and a medical team that constantly assisted the little boy during the trip.
An ambulance was waiting for the flight to arrive at Milan Linate airport, and the newborn was then transported to the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato Hospital.
