It is called QEX - Quartu Express and is the new Ctm bus line that will allow you to move from Cagliari to Quartu and vice versa in 25 minutes .

It will be active from 14 September, with terminus in piazza Matteotti and via Brigata Sassari and back in piazza Matteotti .

Entirely sustainable, managed by electric trolleybuses and with a saving of travel time thanks to the preferential lane of viale Marconi and via Dante.

"It is a line that will allow you to get from Cagliari to Quartu Sant'Elena and vice versa in 25 minutes, in less time than the existing lines - explains Carlo Andrea Arba , president of Ctm spa - because it is a line designed as a Rapid Bus Transit, that is with the use of preferential lanes ".

The QEX line is an active line from Monday to Saturday and will have a frequency of 8 minutes from 7 am to 9 pm .

The service starts at 4.23 in the morning from Quartu and ends with the last ride from Cagliari to Quartu at 22.55.

"We hope that the project we have planned can soon be managed online with 18-meter vehicles and with an even lower frequency . All without construction sites and additional costs and, what is not trivial, sustainable. Of course, the ideal - concludes Arba - it would be that Ctm vehicles traveled all the way in preferential lanes and this would allow absolute punctuality and very competitive times for private cars ".

"The goal for the metropolitan city - comments the mayor of Cagliari Paolo Truzzu - is to provide a fast and reliable public service : this line with eight minutes of frequency respects this need, as well as - he adds - allows many citizens to leave the private car and save on fuel costs, as well as avoiding traffic and pollution which is leading to evident climatic results. I hope that all the planning work we are doing as a Metropolitan and Municipal Administration and through our company Ctm will lead to the future for our cities increasingly connected with smart mobility also through shared mode ".
