Abbanoa emergency response teams are in action on Via Is Mirrionis, Cagliari, to repair a sudden failure in a 400-millimeter gray cast iron pipeline.

After the road was partially flooded, operators responded to the scene and carried out preliminary maneuvers to minimize disruptions, diverting water to secondary distribution lines.

"The water main along Via Is Mirrionis has a main pipe (where the fault occurred), which may be isolated in sections, and two parallel secondary pipes containing the utility connections," explains a statement from Abbanoa. "No interruptions to the supply are expected," the company adds, "but pressure drops could occur, particularly on the upper floors of the apartment buildings."
