Cagliari, ok (almost) with no restrictions on the new Viale Trieste: "Improvement intervention"
Green light of the conference of services, positive opinion also of the offices of the Superintendence: "Particular attention to archaeological finds"

The service conference said yes, albeit with some minor prescriptions: the operational go-ahead for the construction of the new Viale Trieste, first lot, arrives. This is the stretch that goes from Piazza del Carmine to the intersection with Via Roma, where a new square will be born.
The blessing was signed at the conclusion of the services conference convened to address all aspects of the intervention planned by the Municipality.
Some stakes have been placed. Binding, but not at all obstacles. For the archaeological part, the Superintendency has imposed that "all excavations and earth movements must be carried out under surveillance
continuation of an archaeologist in possession of the legal requirements, with costs to be borne by the client ".
While on the architectural level the use of wood was rejected for the so-called “pocket spaces” , elements of urban furniture included in the project. “This finish”, it is written in the opinion, “contrasts with the traditional stone structure that has always characterized the tree-lined avenue, an example of decoration that draws from the twentieth-century tradition of tree-lined avenues; furthermore, it is believed that "wood" does not guarantee (also for the purposes of durability) the stable character of the decoration to be achieved, with the real danger that after a short time the atmospheric agents attack these elements and accelerate their degradation ".
Despite the protests for the cutting of existing trees (which will be replaced, because they are considered dangerous), there was no opposition from the offices of the Landscape Protection, who wrote: "The intervention is an improvement of the current situation and this Superintendence expresses a favorable opinion on the project in compliance with the provisions set out above, in the part relating to the monumental profile, which are to be considered mandatory ".
For the entire redevelopment there are 12 million. At the edges of the carriageway, cycle paths and sidewalks at least one and a half meters wide will be created. From piazza Del Carmine to the intersection with via Roma, the one-way traffic on two lanes will be maintained, with a narrowing to one lane between the junction of via XXIX Novembre and the intersection with via Roma.
From via Roma to viale Sant'Avendrace, two-way traffic has been confirmed, but with only one lane in each direction. There are also two roundabouts: one at the height of via Pola and the other at that of the junction with viale Sant'Avendrace.
