A weekend without music and parties. "We will remain closed due to technical issues," announced Tulum and Patron, the two nightclubs on Viale Trieste that were unable to open as usual on Friday and yesterday. The two clubs, separated by just one other restaurant, will also be unable to open tonight after being stopped by two municipal notices for illegally occupying public land.
The Patron received the notification on Thursday, forcing the venue to cancel its scheduled events. The club's management company will have to pay a €1,500 fine, while the business will only be able to reopen tomorrow after a five-day shutdown. The fine stems from a local police check on November 1st, which revealed unauthorized occupation of the sidewalk in front of the Patron's entrance around 4 a.m. According to the report, barriers with tape had been placed between them, likely to manage the queue, and which, according to the officers, created a hazard and obstructed pedestrian traffic.
The fine includes the venue's eight-day closure. The company that manages Patron requested, as per municipal regulations, to convert the suspension into a fine, paying €500 for each day, for a total of €4,000. According to the document, the business never paid the fine, resulting in a further closure from January 7th to 14th, later reduced to five days (from January 7th to today) plus a €1,500 fine. Tulum was also fined for illegally occupying public land, forcing the club to cancel its events. Both nightclubs immediately announced they will reopen next weekend.
