Work began this morning on the new section of the Cagliari metro, which will connect Piazza Repubblica to the train station. As expected, the project had an immediate impact on the city's traffic, particularly along Viale Diaz, where delays, long queues, and inconvenience for motorists and commuters were experienced.

The traffic changes, which will last until next May and are necessary to allow the construction sites to open, have caused inevitable disruption already in the early hours of the day, with vehicles stuck in traffic jams and significantly increased travel times.

The situation has sparked complaints among residents, concerned about the duration of the work and the impact on daily traffic.
