An arrest was made for attempted theft last night in Cagliari , where a 25-year-old of Tunisian origin was caught while trying to steal a bicycle that had been temporarily left parked in Via Napoli.

The owner of the vehicle, a barber living in Samassi , realizing the attempted theft, chased the 25-year-old and reached him on foot in Via Roma, where a fight broke out in an attempt to recover the bike.

The screams and commotion attracted the attention of some passersby, who intervened to provide assistance and managed to stop the Tunisian man while waiting for the arrival of the Carabinieri.

The military arrived on the scene within minutes and permanently detained the arrested man, who was secured and taken to the premises of the Cagliari-Villanova Carabinieri station.
