From today, Wednesday 30 November, two new routes will open in the municipal park of Tuvixeddu, in Cagliari . One, the upper one, starting from the small green theater, climbs up to the belvedere at the top of the hill: from there you can admire the lagoon of Santa Gilla. Walk also in the lower one, which connects the entrance to the new excavation area, which has recently allowed the increase of the Phoenician-Punic tombs observable in the necropolis.

The first will be accessible until 3pm in winter and 5pm in summer. While the second can be used for the entire duration of the park's opening.

«With the conclusion of this part of the works at the Tuvixeddu Park», explains the mayor Paolo Truzzu, «our most important green area from a historical and archaeological point of view, which houses the most important Phoenician-Punic necropolis in the Mediterranean, it becomes larger and more usable for citizens, thanks to daytime access to the splendid viewpoint at the top of the hill. This is a first part of the intervention, which in the next few years will see the recovery of further areas available to all».

«The park of Tuvixeddu», adds the commissioner of the public Green, Giorgio Angius, «represents a special place, in the beating heart of Cagliari, in which vestiges of the past of our city mix with the greenery. From today the area will be even greener thanks to the opening of the path that leads to the top of the hill, to the panoramic viewpoint and the pine forest, bordering the historic Villa Mulas-Mameli, privately owned».
