Great anticipation for the arrival of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella in Cagliari , on the occasion of National Unity Day and Armed Forces Day which will be celebrated at the port on Saturday 4 November ( THE VIDEO OF THE TESTS ).

It will be the tenth visit to Sardinia for the Head of State.

The last time was recently, on 9 September in the Gulf of Asinara , to commemorate the sinking of the battleship "Roma".

The first official visit, however, dates back to 2 October 2017, when Mattarella participated in the inauguration of the 2017/2018 academic year at the Rectorate of the University of Cagliari and, at the Ghilarza Auditorium , in the ceremony on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the death of Antonio Gramsci.

Again: on 26 February 2018 Mattarella spoke in Cagliari at the solemn session of the Regional Council on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Statute.

In August 2018, however, the first of his holidays on the island , in La Maddalena . Holiday repeated again in August 2019.

In 2020, the President of the Republic went to Sassari on 24 September to remember the figure of the President Emeritus of the Republic, Francesco Cossiga , on the tenth anniversary of his death.

In August 2021 and 2022, Mattarella once again spent his summer holidays on the island, in Alghero.

Finally, again in 2022, on May 25, Mattarella arrived in Sassari again to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Enrico Berlinguer .
