The traffic revolution in Cagliari starts this morning for the redevelopment of via Roma. Starting at 9 the lanes on the side of the arcades will be closed at least until the autumn and the flow of cars will move to the seafront 11 September, the road that runs along the port.

«Those who can, avoid using the car», is the advice of the councilor for Mobility Alessio Mereu, «I realize that not everyone can afford it, but in the next few days it is foreseeable that there will be some critical issues, pending an adjustment ».

Those who have to move from the area of via Sonnino and viale Diaz towards viale Trieste and Sant'Aventrace will have to change their habits. The four lanes of via Roma, from the Darsena to the intersection with Largo Carlo Felice will be closed to make room for bulldozers and workers. Anyone who wants to reach Piazza Matteotti is obliged to use the alternative routes that lead to the port side. In particular, those arriving from via XX Settembre can cross viale Diaz and continue along via Pirastu, then turn into via Campidano to exit in piazza Deffenu. Even those arriving from viale Diaz, with via Roma closed, will have to follow the same route, turning left before the Enel building. Turning right to go up viale Regina Margherita is always permitted.

But that's not all, the road conditions also change for those arriving in via Roma at the Town Hall traffic light.
