In Cagliari , via San Paolo and its surroundings are now in a complete state of decay.

Car wrecks and rickety vans, bags of rubbish of every order and degree occupy hundreds of square meters, including the sidewalks of a public road offended and framed by dirt. The same one on which the second Cagliari ecological island opened its gates, not even many months ago. A paradox. How bizarre and extravagant is the suspended destination of this 18-hectare slice of land and suburb that a million-dollar project would like to transform into an immense park of greenery and sports.

Also skipped the last date, the one that had indicated in January 2023 the end of the cleaning work and the start of the redevelopment interventions, for at least two months of bulldozers and workers in these parts there has been no trace of it . The reclamation has collided with a bureaucracy unable to resolve the cases of illegal occupation that still persist.

THE NEVER BORN URBAN PARK – Viale Sant'Avendrace, the social housing, the urban park, the park and ride parks, the sports fields, in short, the 18 million euro projects, obtained in 2017 by the Giunta led at the time by Massimo Zedda, are remained on paper, caged by the quicksand of bureaucracy: expropriations, usucapions, renunciation of the companies winning the contracts .

From that 18 million euro masterplan, made possible by the "suburbs tender" which was supposed to allow for the redevelopment of a large slice of the neighborhood between the lagoon and the Tuvixeddu necropolis, only the eco-centre has seen the light for the moment.

The latest roadmap update was March 31 of this year on the calendar. Deadline that will not be respected.
