Cagliari, ambulance lines blocked: explosive situation in hospitals
System haywire, vehicles stopped even from 8 this morning with patients on board: dozens of patients waiting outside the capital's facilities

At the Santissima Trinità there has been an ambulance waiting since this morning at 8. Inside, there is a patient. It is only one of eight blocked for hours in the square of the Is Mirrionis emergency hospital in Cagliari . Today as in recent days: there is no room inside the wards, they are saturated. And until beds are freed up, new patients cannot be hospitalized.
What should be an extraordinary situation, in its difficulties, is now becoming the norm.
The numbers arriving from the flow monitoring network in emergency-urgency facilities are worrying: 22 yellow and 4 red patients at Santissima, 22 yellow and one red at Brotzu, 29 yellow and 5 red at the Policlinico. It is useless to count the greens: there are many.
An exasperating situation: for the 118 rescuers, for doctors and emergency room personnel. And, of course, for those who are sick and only ask to be treated. But by now they all converge towards the Cagliari structures: the peripheral hospitals do not guarantee adequate services. The problem is that the capital's health system is no longer able to keep up. And it risks collapse.
