"The commitments signed cannot be unilaterally modified by Sogaer. We are ready to fight to ensure that what has already been decided is respected."

Uiltrasporti Sardegna claims this, denouncing the "serious decision" made by the Sogaer Group's management to call into question the commitments made in the preliminary agreement of June 9, reached after more than eight months of discussions.

The agreement, the union recalls, represented a point of balance constructed with a great sense of responsibility on both sides and provided for the resolution of outstanding issues relating to holiday pay , Sunday work and personal protective equipment (PPE), the recognition of a bonus to compensate for the missed performance bonus for 2025 and the initiation of discussions to define the performance bonus for 2026.

Following the signing of the preliminary agreement , the unions suspended the 18-hour strike called for June 13th , confident that the workers would honor their commitments. But things turned out differently.

"During last Thursday's meeting scheduled for the final ratification of the agreement," Uiltrasporti Sardegna recalls, "the group's management instead presented a new proposal that unilaterally amended what had already been agreed upon, eliminating one of the financial items included in the agreement. This decision is unacceptable to the trade unions."

Uiltrasporti considers it a serious matter that this decision was announced so close to the period in which the law limits the possibility of calling strike action. "It's not just a financial amount that's at stake, but the value of the given word," the union emphasizes. "If a signed agreement can be called into question upon ratification, the fundamental basis of proper industrial relations is undermined: mutual trust."

A meeting of all Sogaer Group staff has been called for next Thursday, from noon to two in the afternoon.
