"Thank you. Thanks to the police, to all the Mobile Squad and Police Patrol officers who investigated. And thanks also to Unione Sarda: the article about my appeal with the request for help I think has given new impetus to the search for the person responsible." Paola Cocco, 61, is one of the victims of the serial mugger arrested yesterday in Cagliari: he is considered responsible for at least four robberies against elderly women, carried out in the city center between May 19 and 28. But the suspicion is that he struck at least ten times.

The sixty-one-year-old had been followed and, when she got off the bus in Via della Pineta, the robber had torn the necklace from her neck . A memento of her daughter, whose photo was in the pendant.
"I didn't hope for it," says the woman, who filed a complaint a few hours after being attacked, "but after my appeal for information on the necklace, I was immediately contacted by many who showed me solidarity, but also by the Police Headquarters. They invited me to report useful elements for the investigation," she adds.
Then silence fell. "But then a call came from the police: they had caught the robber and among the objects recovered was my necklace. When I saw it again I was moved, the officers hugged me and consoled me. I can only thank them."
Paola Cocco promotes a message: «I know that other victims have been contacted and have recovered what was stolen. But the police have also recovered objects whose owners have not been identified: if someone has suffered the theft, and perhaps has not yet come forward, please approach the police station. I felt protected by the police».
