At least eleven people – but the actual cases are thought to be several dozen – were taken to hospital due to food poisoning after eating tuna in a restaurant-bar in Cagliari .
The incident occurred in a downtown restaurant . The group, likely made up of employees from local offices, had consumed the same tuna-based dish. Within a short time, at different times, the people complained of discomfort : nausea and abdominal pain in some, while others experienced allergic reactions.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene: ten people were transported to the Brotzu emergency room, while another went to the hospital on their own. None of the victims are in serious condition.

Further cases, not yet officially confirmed, sent by 118 to the Santissima Trinità hospital of the Cagliari ASL, are not excluded.

In addition to the Carabinieri of the Cagliari provincial command, the NAS military are also at work, having begun inspections of the premises.
