Spaghetti with sea urchins and controversy . If on the one hand the sea urchins of Cabras, about sixty, are about to put on their wetsuits again to dive in search of the red gold, after the Region has made an about-face eliminating the stoppage that was foreseen for the next three years, there are those who is trying in every way to boycott the sale.

The QuiEtica association, like last year, has promoted a campaign through social media to convince Sardinians not to buy sea urchins to avoid depopulation of the sea .

As soon as the Region announced it was opening fishing, it immediately took to the field: «Here we go again - writes the association on its Facebook page - once again politics, the one that should protect the common good, has proved inadequate. We must avoid all this by avoiding consuming sea urchins in all their forms».

But not only. QiuiEtica is ready to redistribute all the useful material in commercial activities to explain to customers why it is important not to consume the resource.

RESTAURANTS – On the restaurateur front, however, there are conflicting opinions: there are those who have also decided not to put sea urchins on the menu and those who are ready to serve spaghetti with red pulp.

From the restaurant "Il Caminetto", in the historic center of Cabras, the owner Renzo Canu speaks: «Since fishing has been opened, I will also offer sea urchins. They keep asking me for them».

Marco Pinna is the manager of Acquaurchi ittiturismo, on the provincial road that leads from Cabras to the thing: «No sea urchins, even if someone calls to book and asks us if they are on the menu».

The “Leopardi” restaurant in Corso Italia will not change its habit: «This time too we will offer much more - said Giorgia Virdis, the owner's daughter - So no red pulp».
