Cabras, the former barracelli captain who resigned: "We are in jeopardy, without means and ended up blocking traffic"

The accusations are many, some even strong. Rags fly between the mayor of Cabras Andrea Abis and the former barracelli captain Fabrizio Lochi. A few days after his resignation, Lochi decided to empty the bag and tell the reason for his decision.
«It was no longer possible to work without fire-fighting equipment, just as it was absurd to be employed for hours and hours behind a barrier during cultural events promoted by the Municipality. That's why I left office. And like me they left six other agents ».
Lochi points the finger at the mayor: «Nothing against the mayor himself, that is clear, but it is useless to deny that the company has been used in the wrong way for years. The barracelli must monitor the countryside and the coast, they are not used to block traffic during demonstrations. They must intervene to put out the flames with the appropriate means, not with the help of farmers' means. Cabras is a territory with many problems. We were alone in the fray. Not against all the requests made via e-mail without responses ».
But Abis returns the accusations to the sender: «Perhaps someone forgot that some time ago the company was equipped with a pick up. But that's not all: we have equipped the group with an office. Without forgetting the 20,000 euros that the Municipality pays into the company's accounts every year in exchange for their collaboration».
On the firefighting vehicle, Abis explains: «We asked the Region for significant resources to purchase these very expensive vehicles. Regarding the presence of the barracks behind the barriers, it is right to remember that they were necessary given the high presence of the public which also requires the adoption of a safety plan. This is not a demeaning assignment." Meanwhile, Abis is already working to appoint a new captain who will most likely be elected during the next Council. He also declares that the agents who had resigned in recent months will also be welcome.
