Twenty years ago it was a simple festival, in 2019 the Bottarga Festival was born. But now the event is going up a notch. The Region is including the culinary event dedicated to the yellow gold, organized by the Municipality of Cabras, in the "Regional program of events in the form of festivals and reviews".

There are many new features planned for the 2025 edition: for the first time, 300 thousand euros are available . Last April, the Municipality of Cabras participated in the tender promoted by the regional Tourism Department to support with significant resources events capable of giving prominence and visibility to the Island. "And surprisingly, they admitted us - announced Mayor Andrea Abis - We also obtained a higher score than important events such as the Girotonno. Now we are working to put the project of the event on paper , in light of the 150 thousand euros financed by the Region thanks to this new tender". The same amount will be made available by the Municipality. This is what the tender envisaged.

«Our share will then be recovered thanks to the sponsors, the Fondazione di Sardegna and the Gal», explains Abis.

The Festival will no longer last two days but three . The historic center will transform into an open-air restaurant most likely on the third weekend of September . This time there will also be an important signature of Italian cuisine. Will it be Antonino Cannavacciuolo? Who knows.

"For the first time we will also be able to give the large audience an important concert - continues Abis - But the most important news is that for the first time the event will be promoted by the Region itself. For us it is a great responsibility. It will be a high-level Festival, it will be an important leap in quality".
