The scam carried out by a 31-year-old from Anagni, in the Frusinate area, against a 56-year-old fisherman from Calasetta ended with a complaint. The latter had responded to an advertisement published on Facebook's "Marketplace" for the sale of a used New Holland agricultural machine: the price was 10,000 euros.

Having contacted the counterparty, an advance payment of 6,600 euros had been agreed, with the balance due upon delivery of the vehicle. Which never happened.

At that point the fisherman realized he had been deceived and turned to the carabinieri who started the investigation by tracing the account holder to whom the money had arrived. It was the 31-year-old, who was reported for aggravated fraud .
