Building burned in Alghero, looters enter 15 apartments: slim loot
In addition to the damage, there is also insult to the 50 families left without a home
Thieves in the burned building in via Vittorio Emanuele in Alghero.
Fifteen apartments were opened by unknown persons who entered the building, unusable since 18 July 2017. Holes in the wall and armored doors torn down: the loot is slim because the owners had already taken everything away, but the damage was considerable.
Adding insult to injury for the 50 families left without a home and forced to pay rent for other accommodation, waiting for justice to take its course.
The criminal proceedings ended with the acquittals of the eight suspects for negligent fire. The damage was estimated in civil court: over seven million euros , not counting the value of personal effects and the enormous inconvenience for those who lost everything overnight. Police and firefighters on site.
