Yesterday the Siniscola Carabinieri carried out a large-scale check in Budoni, Torpè and Dorgali, with the aim of preventing drunk driving and crimes against people, especially in the main meeting places and in the evening tourist areas.

During the operation, the military confiscated several licenses and reported six people at large.

Five adults were caught driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit; one of them, in addition to driving under the influence, was driving a vehicle without a mandatory inspection.

Another driver was fined for driving with a blood alcohol level slightly higher than the permitted limit.

The checks also led to a man being reported for unauthorized possession of an iron club in a public place.

The same individual was reported to the Prefect for drug possession, as he was found in possession of a small quantity of cocaine.

Finally, as part of checks on foreigners present in the country, a man was fined for failing to notify the public security authorities of the presence of a legal Senegalese citizen in his property.
