"The staff is exhausted, the organizational shortcomings are becoming more and more serious and the administrative choices are raising controversy". Usb sanità has officially declared a state of agitation among the staff of the Arnas Brotzu sector, asking for the immediate suspension of the internal procedure for the assignment of a position in the legal and contentious administrative area.
A decision, that of the administration, that the union considers "irresponsible and unacceptable, especially in such a delicate moment".
The hospital is close to an imminent receivership, which will inevitably lead to organizational restructuring. Proceeding with new appointments, for the union, means ignoring the real emergencies of the structure, starting with the serious shortage of health, technical and administrative personnel.
"The conditions of the operating units are already at the limit: grueling shifts, suffering departments and a system in collapse. One of the main critical issues concerns the failure to renew contracts for the Oss, many of whom, after years of service, have found themselves without work. The situation is no better for the waiting lists, which continue to grow, also impacting on oncological and specialist surgical interventions", explains the regional representative Gianfranco Angioni.
Faced with this "dramatic" scenario, USB Sanità wonders how it is possible to consider a new administrative assignment a priority while those who guarantee assistance are forced to work with increasingly reduced resources .
According to the union, the current outgoing administration is allocating resources to non-essential roles, rather than focusing on concrete measures to improve the conditions of those who work in the departments, operating rooms and health services.
Also in the crosshairs are some recent economic decisions that have penalized workers , such as the forced compensation of the canteen service and the failure to pay allowances for additional services, a cut that has hit hard those who, with great difficulty, have continued to guarantee care activities.
"Faced with this situation, we have formally warned the general management against moving forward with the internal selection and requested the intervention of the Prefecture to activate the state of agitation", adds Angioni, "the real priorities must be hiring, stabilization, increased productivity and allowances, as well as better safety conditions for the staff".
