Volunteers from the Carbonia Marevivo environmental association and students from the Giovanni Maria Angioy Higher Technical Institute, with the support of the Municipality of Calasetta, launched an important environmental initiative by participating in the cleanup of the Salina beach.
After attending classes at school over the past few days by the association, which has been working for years to raise awareness among the public about environmental education and active citizenship, students and members of the association have undertaken an intensive cleanup project on one of the most beautiful beaches in southwest Sardinia. The students also took samples for chemical and physical analyses of the water quality, continuing their previous efforts, thus combining environmentalism with educational activities. Indeed, it is a specific mission of the association to also monitor the quality of marine, lake, and river waters, the natural heritage of Sulcis Iglesiente.
