Bovine dermatitis, checks and analyses in half of Sardinia: hunting for the insect vector
Another suspected case in Orotelli: awaiting the report. While the Island remains in quarantinePer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The report on the suspected case of bovine dermatitis has not yet arrived, but the symptoms of the animal from a farm in Orotelli where the blood and scab sample was taken do not bode well.
After the tests at the Zooprophylactic Institute of Sassari, the test tubes are being passed to the Institute of Teramo for confirmation, and in the meantime a third sample is being examined. Five days after the confirmation of the first national case of the disease in a farm in Orani, not only cattle but all livestock has been blocked, with the movement and export of sheep, goats, pigs and horses halted. And probably also slaughtering.
The restrictions imposed by the Region are in force, while we are still waiting for the Government's provision that should precisely define the measures that, at the moment, have been imposed for ten days. But if there were other confirmed cases, their duration could be extended. And in the Sardinian countryside there is enormous concern.
