The recovery operations of the sailing vessel that ran aground in the early hours of yesterday off the coast of Bosa Marina, about 20 meters from the shoreline, have been concluded: on board there were two people of about 60 years of age, of French nationality . One of the two, particularly shaken because he did not know how to swim, was assisted by the Coast Guard patrol present on site.
Once the two tourists were secured, action was taken to avoid any type of pollution in the sea and on the coast . Yesterday afternoon, all the necessary activities were carried out to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident, the investigation will be conducted by the Maritime Authority.
An operational briefing was held in the premises of the Bosa Maritime District Office to agree on the intervention methods for the recovery of the boat, scheduled - for the most favorable weather conditions - this morning. At 8, the refloating operations began with the help of an underwater technical operator who heeled the sailing vessel with a counterweight positioned on the unit's mast and secured a rope around the bulb of the vessel.
It was then slowly towed until it passed the shallows in the area, and then, once it reached the necessary depths, it repositioned itself to normal buoyancy and continued the tow to the shipyard, where it was hauled out for subsequent checks.
The Coast Guard military were always present on site. The coast and the related body of water were therefore once again accessible to swimmers.
