Bomb alarm in the evening in Cagliari, in Piazza Michelangelo: electric cables connected to a gas stove placed in the passenger compartment emerge from the bonnet of a parked car. But the police officers and firefighters who hurriedly arrived in the area discovered that it was a very dangerous system used by the owner of the car to heat up his vehicle.

The incident took place around 6pm today. Some people have raised the alarm by noticing electric wires coming out of the hood of a car and reaching the passenger compartment. Also seeing a stove with a small gas cylinder, the worst was feared. The area was closed to traffic by the Flying Squad policemen to allow the firefighters to intervene.

Eventually the cables were disconnected. Meanwhile, the owner of the car, an elderly man, has been traced. It was he, even a little annoyed by the clamor, who explained what that system was for: as the vehicle's heating no longer worked, he connected the car battery to the gas stove with electric ignition. So when he started the engine, he also activated the stove to heat the passenger compartment.

Fortunately, nothing serious happened because the system, as revealed by the firefighters' investigations, could have had dangerous consequences especially for the car owner, once it was turned on. Now it will be necessary to evaluate whether there are grounds for a complaint.
