Blood emergency in Sardinia , the leader of the Progressives in the Regional Council Francesco Agus sounded the alarm.
" The inadequacy of the regional management and the Brotzu blood transfusion center , combined with the aftermath of the pandemic, is creating enormous difficulties," he writes on Facebook. And to pay the price "are above all the patients who must periodically undergo a transfusion".
To thalassemics, Agus continues, " just one bag of blood is now transfused instead of the three necessary ".
A shortage of blood which is also " paralyzing the surgical activity , urgent interventions are skipped and those in election are postponed indefinitely".
An "unacceptable" thing, adds Agus, recalling that the issue was addressed two months ago in the health committee. Where "as always, commitments have been made and as always they have fallen on deaf ears: no new donation awareness campaign, no action towards the state to favor the priority purchase of blood bags by Sardinia, no solution to the organizational problems reported for some time by associations ".
