Blood and fear in the night in Cagliari : a young man was stabbed. Rescued by 118, he was taken to Brotzu and assigned a red code. The victim, a twenty-five year old resident of Selargius, a foreign citizen, is fortunately not in danger of life. Thanks to a lightning investigation, the military were able to identify and report the alleged attacker: he is a 28 year old foreign citizen, regularly present in the national territory and already known to the police for previous police records.
The police are working on what happened shortly after midnight in the area of Via Italia in Pirri . According to the reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the Cagliari-Villanova Station and the Radiomobile Section, who intervened at the request of CTM personnel, the fight began for trivial reasons with a group of unknown peers . During the discussion, one of the men, flanked by two women, allegedly pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed the young man in the abdomen. Immediately after, the three allegedly walked away, disappearing into the surrounding streets. The alarm was raised immediately with a request for help.
The images from the surveillance cameras on the bus and in the surrounding areas, together with the testimonies collected by the Carabinieri, were crucial for the reconstruction of the facts. The weapon used to hit the young man - a kitchen knife - was found and seized during the searches.
