Blackout at the airport in Cagliari, stopover in tilt

The blackout that hit Cagliari airport between lunchtime and early afternoon sent the airport into a tailspin . There were various difficulties for passengers and workers due to a fault in the electricity grid which seems to have involved the whole area. The air conditioning system stopped working and many waiting to leave or an arrival remained inside the terminal in the heat . Not only that, but the lack of electricity has also put out of use the X-ray systems for checking baggage and passengers , so the security officers had to carry them out manually, slowing down the whole procedure which led to endless queues.

Sogaer apologizes and reiterates that this is not an internal problem within the company and that the various uninterruptible power supplies, the devices that guarantee the constant supply of electricity when it fails, have made it possible to mitigate the disservice caused by the failure in the Enel network. While the unions Filt Cigl, Fit Cisl and Uil Trasporti sent a note to ENAC, Soager and Sogaer Security where they highlight the critical issues related to the services of workers in the city airport.
