A large fire broke out in the late afternoon today in the countryside between Ottana and Bolotana, in the "Marco Timpanzu" area.

Two light helicopters and a Superpuma were used for a long time to tackle the fire front, with launches from above. But it wasn't enough: around 8pm, Canadair's support was requested. While numerous Forestry and Civil Protection teams were at work on the ground. The dense column of smoke is visible from many kilometers away.

In the evening the alert came to the operators in the area: the fire front has not been stopped and there is the risk of the need for night interventions, without the support of helicopters.

Meanwhile, 20 fires broke out today in the regional territory: in addition to Bolotana, aircraft intervened twice more.

The first was recorded in Collinas, "Nuraghe Corruardu" locality: the shutdown was coordinated by the staff of the Ales Forestry Corps station, assisted by the Gauf of Cagliari, by the staff of the Sanluri forestry station and by the staff who arrived on board the helicopter from the Villasalto base and the Superpuma coming from the Fenosu base. Also on the field were 4 teams from the Forestas Agency and a team from the Ales firefighters.

The second large fire in Nuragus, in the "Sa Serra 'e Riu" area, whose extinguishment was coordinated by the staff of the Laconi Forestry Corps Station who requested the dispatch of the San Cosimo helicopter with its staff on board. In action, in addition to the staff of the Aritzo Forestry station , there are also 2 teams of volunteers from the Laconi and Sarcidano associations, a team from Forestas di Laconi.
