Five maxi illegal landfills and two disputed fines of over one thousand euros, almost three thousand hours of activity with daytime and evening patrols, four operations in support of institutions, over 20 interventions in environmental matters and 5 for fires. It is a first assessment of the activity of the men of the Porto Torres barracellar company, led by the new commander Gavino Cuccu, whose appointment was recently ratified by the city council.

Authorized to sanction in the event of environmental crimes, hunting, fire prevention and regional and municipal ordinances, the green uniforms, in all 13 barracelli engaged in turn to monitor the entire territory in support of the municipal police, have identified five huge landfills concentrated in the suburbs, formed by debris deriving from construction works and electric wires collected in black bags and abandoned in wooded areas and on the provincial road 81 towards the pine forest of Platamona. Special waste which, according to the first investigations carried out by the local police and barracelli, would have been unloaded several times by the same company with a white van.

The bags of waste will be removed by a company appointed by the Municipality and then disposed of. Two fines have been issued so far, after identifying the culprits. The team in action also serves in schools, with the presence of the vigilant grandfather, in conjunction with the entry and exit of the pupils at the nursery school in via Balai and the Bellieni institute and collaborates, as well as with the municipal police , with the Forestry and the Arma.
