Excited moments in the Sassari prison of Bancali, where an inmate attempted to commit suicide, but was saved at the last minute by prison officers.

This was reported by Sappe, the Autonomous Penitentiary Police Syndicate, through the voice of the national delegate for Sardinia Antonio Cannas. "The detainee - Cannas explains - attempted suicide by hanging herself from the railings of the cell window with a rudimentary lace made from the sheets used by the prison administration. First aid and resuscitation procedures were immediately performed by the doctor on call, which were successful ".

From what we learn, the woman had already tried similar gestures in the past. The comment on the incident by Donato Capece, general secretary of Sappe himself was very harsh: "We cannot go further: it is a continuous and daily trickle of critical events in the country's prisons. If the current leaders are not able to guaranteeing the physical safety of prison policemen and prisoners must all resign ".

The regional secretary of Sappe of Sardinia Luca Fais, on the other hand, expresses "appreciation" for the professionalism shown by the prison policemen of the Bancali prison and stresses that it is "yet another attempted suicide of a detainee, thwarted in time by professionalism and attention of the policemen, this shows how social and human problems persist, indeed, in prisons ".
