The checked baggage count doesn't add up. The plane takes off more than an hour late.
Passengers on the Aeroitalia Rome-Cagliari flight, which was scheduled to lift its wheels off the runway at Fiumicino Airport this evening at 8:30 PM, had to contend with this inconvenience. All procedures proceeded smoothly, and the plane appeared ready to depart on time. But with all passengers on board, it remained stationary.
For about half an hour, no information arrived. And just as tension began to rise, the captain announced: the number of bags loaded didn't match the number recorded during boarding. And you can't fly with a bag you don't know who owns.
A Leonardo Da Vinci handling operator climbed into the cabin. The hold was inspected, and the problem appears to have been resolved: the ground staff were responsible for the error.
Taxiing began around 9:45 PM, an hour and 15 minutes later than the scheduled take-off time.
