"I express, not only on my behalf but also on behalf of the Cagliari University Hospital Trust, great solidarity and closeness to the triage nurse of the Emergency Department of the Duilio Casula Polyclinic who was attacked this night . A solidarity and closeness that goes to all the healthcare personnel of the AOU of Cagliari, always committed on the front line to guarantee assistance to citizens, often in extremely critical conditions".
These are the words of Vincenzo Serra, extraordinary commissioner of the Cagliari University Hospital Trust , after the attack that took place in the Monserrato hospital, where a patient waiting for an appointment threatened a nurse. Serra then thanked those who, with their "providential intervention" intervened to keep the situation under control. The recognition therefore goes to the "carabinieri and security guards on duty".
The commissioner also added that the "General Management will join the civil action and will make the video material of the incident available to the police. We will always be at the side of the workers who work every day with great dedication, sacrifice and professionalism for the good of the community".
