Aspantu is the name of the liqueur created by Antonio Verdetto, bottled by Silvio Carta and already on the market, after the presentation which took place in recent days in the village of Fertilia.
A versatile liqueur made with Sardinian botanicals, mint, lemon and ginger: the ginger is also Sardinian, produced in the Cagliari area and is used fresh.
Antonio Verdetto has been the owner of the historic "Acquario" restaurant for 40 years. For several years he has started producing this particular liqueur by hand, which is much requested by friends and relatives. «With Aspantu I believe I have created a perfect mix between ginger, mint and lemon but, above all, it is an infusion that can be served at different stages of the meal, but is also well suited to flavoring and enriching tasty recipes», says Antonio Verdetto. The idea of having it produced and packaged for sale came from his wife Paola who, with their sons Lorenzo and Andrea, have been working for over a year to reach this goal. «Ours is a business that involves the whole family, but Antonio has always been at the helm of this company and I believe that after forty years of work he deserved a small seal for his skill», comments Paola Piras, wife of Antonio Verdetto .
Aspantu, produced by Silvio Carta with strictly Sardinian botanicals, celebrates Alghero and Sardinia: it is a term that derives from the Alghero word aspant, which means wonder, enchantment, not by chance.
Like all family creations, the future of Aspantu will be taken care of by the young Lorenzo and Andrea, who are already working to promote the liqueur on the various social channels.
