Nando Dalla Chiesa, professor of Sociology of Organized Crime at the University of Milan and son of General Dalla Chiesa, who was killed by the Mafia, was a key figure on the island of Asinara in training and research activities related to the Mafia and anti-Mafia.

In particular, she led residential seminars with students and researchers from Bocconi University in Milan, addressing the history and memories of the island, which once housed a maximum security prison for mafia members subjected to the 41-bis regime. The island, with its history tied to prison and the presence of magistrates Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, has become a symbolic place for study and reflection on anti-mafia activity . The group had the opportunity to retrace the island's history and memories, linked to the presence of key figures such as the two judges who, in the summer of 1985, prepared the preliminary investigation for the maxi-trial against Cosa Nostra in the Casa Rossa.

He was supported by former prison police inspector Giommaria Deriu . A symbol of legality, Asinara is part of the Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino Museum of the Present, a national project promoted by the Falcone Foundation and recognized as a civic cultural reference for the promotion of legality.
