After many years of presence in the area, the Ragnedda Administration has deemed it necessary and appropriate to regulate the transport service of people for tourist purposes by means of the wheeled train :   "The story of the little trains was born in the late '90s as an impromptu initiative", said a few days ago, in the city council, Stefania Fresu, delegate for transport and production activities, "and over the years it has consolidated in the territory thus satisfying the needs of organized groups who visit our localities throughout the year».

"These means of tourist transport are mainly used in Porto Cervo and partly in Cannigione because, clearly, there is greater profit," observed the group leader of the Arzachena platform, Rino Cudoni . «One could hypothesize, and I leave a more in-depth study to the Delegate, the establishment of a line also on Arzachena-historic centre . We are making important investments in this, there are also archaeological sites that can be visited compatibly with our narrow streets, even if I see that in many historical centers the rubberized, perhaps electric, route is used. We could link the possibility of establishing», concluded Cudoni, «or even making an obligation, to whoever was assigned the Porto Cervo line, perhaps also to be able to establish a line to Arzachena ».

In any case, the rather slim regulation, consisting of only 16 articles, was unanimously approved. In it, a certain discretion is left to the City Council particularly regarding routes, stops, etc. The assignment of the lines will be done through a public tender procedure. It will take place from 1 March to 15 November, from 8 am to 8.30 pm while leaving the Board the possibility of making changes, for example on the occasion of events or at particular times of the year. Being a tourist service, the information provided must be written in four languages.
