The new artistic installation on the steps of the church of Santa Lucia, in the historic center of Arzachena, will be the work of Fabio Petani, originally from Piedmont and considered one of the greatest Italian exponents of urban art. It will be revealed during the Easter holidays.

The creative proposal is entitled “Essences of Gallura”. Rosemary, olive tree and myrtle, symbols of regeneration, peace and purity, informs the Emerald Municipality, will be the distinctive elements of this work which also wants to launch a message of protection of the environment and biodiversity against climate change. «Continuing on the now consolidated path of annually renewing the artistic installation of the Santa Lucia staircase, also for the 2024 edition we have entrusted ourselves to a street artist with an international profile», states the delegate for Culture, Valentina Geromino. «This year too, the work contains some messages aimed at the community, with the hope of keeping attention high on the historical moment we are going through on a global level».

The artist explains that he wanted to bring the native elements of the Mediterranean scrub back into a city environment, linking them to the symbolic value and therapeutic properties recognized in these plants. The main design, in fact, states Fabio Petani, «focuses mainly on myrtle berries, as a shrub symbol of purity and beauty, rich in healing properties and an iconic element of all of Sardinia».
