There were moments of concern this afternoon on Monte Zoppu, in the Arzachena area, for a hiker who got stuck in the thick vegetation.

The alarm was raised around 2pm , when the man called for help as he was no longer able to find his way.

A team of firefighters from the Arzachena detachment intervened on the scene, supported by a helicopter that took off from the Fertilia base.

After a thorough search, the flight crew located the hiker and hoisted him aboard. Once confirmed to be in good health, the man was transported to a more accessible area, where rescuers on the ground awaited him.

The Porto Cervo consortium also took part in the operations, providing logistical support during the intervention.
