Mario Olianas, 44, is the man who publicly cultivates Cannabis Indica in his garden in Arzachena, declaring it for therapeutic use.
Today, the investigating judge of the Tempio Court, Marcella Pinna, released Olianas after yet another arrest, the sixth in a decade. No further measures were ordered, as requested by attorney Maria Assunta Argiolas.
The man is battling a serious illness and was found in possession of 33 plants in his garden and approximately seven kilos of ready-to-use marijuana. The investigating judge wrote in his ruling that Olianas is not a drug dealer and that medical certificates prove his statements are true.
Olianas explained, through his lawyer, that cannabis cultivation is done exclusively for personal use.
The documentation submitted to the judge certifies that cannabis use alleviates the pain and spasms caused by a serious, chronic, disabling condition. Olianas was already acquitted in June and December 2019, in January 2022, and in 2023. He has never stopped growing marijuana.
