Arson attack in Porto Torres: three parked cars destroyed

Burning cars in the night. Three cars, a BMW, an Opel and a Peugeot 106, were destroyed by a fire started by unknown persons in via Sassari, at the crossroads of via Indipendenza in Porto Torres.
The fire, which started from one of the cars, also hit two other cars parked nearby, right under the home of the owners, residing in the public housing buildings.
Two cars were burned to ashes, while a third was damaged.
The inhabitants of the area raised the alarm shortly after 2 am. The firefighters intervened immediately to try to limit the damage. After putting out the fire, they proceeded to secure the area.
No trace of flammable liquid was found on the vehicles and in the surrounding area, but the hypothesis of fraud appears to be the most plausible.
The carabinieri under the command of Lorenzo Mochi are also on the spot who are investigating the incident. In Porto Torres the nightmare of arsonists returns, a phenomenon, that of arsonists, which has marked the city in the past.
