The former tobacco factory in Arborea is preparing to change its life . Yesterday the reclamation and recovery works of the historic building in the town started. The Municipality had obtained a regional funding of 540 thousand euros . Also available 60 thousand euros from the municipal administration .

"In the overall project idea, we intend to redevelop the building and then create a center available for craft activities - explains the mayor Manuela Pintus - In the context of the works currently financed, the goal is to focus above all on the leftmost part of the stable , in order to make it fully functional to host the first economic and productive activities. In this first phase, work is already being carried out on the reclamation of the building from the guano and bird carcasses present in the affected area, therefore we will proceed with an intervention relating to the removal of the asbestos cement sheets from the roofs ".

It is also planned to arrange the floors, fixtures and plasters of all the new systems . Outside, in addition to the construction of a rainwater accumulation tank, sewage drains, water connections, electrical systems and a photovoltaic system will be prepared.

"The end of the works - concludes the mayor - is scheduled by April 2023".
