Arborea, they hire two farmers and entrust them with a giant cannabis plantation: arrested
Two men from Orune and Bono in handcuffs: hidden among the eucalyptus, more than 3200 plantsThey identified the suitable land for Arborea and there they decided to create a maxi cannabis plantation , with 3292 plants organized in twenty rows, adequately nourished by an autonomous drip irrigation system and well hidden among the eucalyptus in the area. All of this, without "getting their hands dirty": to carry on the cultivation, in fact, they hired the owners of the land, a local family, and entrusted the plantation to the two farmers (already arrested in August) .
The carabinieri of the investigative unit of the provincial command of Cagliari, supported by the soldiers of Oristano, Nuoro, Orune, Bono and of the Cacciatori di Sardegna heliborne squadron, arrested two men, a 37-year-old from Orune and a 27-year-old from Bono , already known to the forces of 'order.
According to investigations, the two provided the farmers with the necessary material and seeds, promising a percentage of the future sale once the plants had matured . To carry out the business, they communicated with the head of the family via telephone cards fictitiously registered in the name of third parties.
A well-structured project, just think of the cultivation methods which, in addition to the division into rows and the presence of the irrigation system, made extensive use of fertilizers. It is certain, therefore, that there are other people involved , in particular someone with important agronomic knowledge.
The police also searched the homes of the two arrested men: at the home of the Orunian, 26 thousand euros in banknotes of various denominations were found, all packaged in four vacuum-packed cellophane packs. In that of the other man, however, another 8,900 euros in cash were found, as well as ten packs of marijuana seeds . They will have to answer for the crime of cultivation and trafficking of narcotic substances, with the aggravating circumstance of the large quantity discovered in Arborea.
